First Place at Zonta

DIANNE RECENTLY WON FIRST PLACE (top award, for above painting) at Cañon City's annual Zonta show (Artful Women Exhibition). This particular show is only open to women artists 18 and over.

"The Canon City Zonta club is associated with Zonta International, a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions, working together to advance the status of women. There are approximately 36,000 members in more than 1,100 clubs in over 60 countries." (from www.zonta.org)

"Dianne Widom wins 'Best of Show' on Friday night (see above painting) at the Salute to Southern Colorado Artists exhibit opening reception at the Fremont Center for the Arts. The Cañon City woman is one of 46 artists in the show with a total of 125 pieces. The exhibit, sponsored by the Royal Gorge Artists Association, is for all artists of Southern Colorado to show their work and compete against one another."

Dianne has taught numerous community college and adult education courses and has been painting professionally for over 30 years. Over this period of time she has developed many original and unusual painting techniques, many of which she loves to share with interested students.

DIANNE WIDOM IS THE MAJOR ARTIST displaying at the Widom Art Gallery. She has been joined by Marna Widom, who paints mostly abstracts (The Widom Art Gallery hosted a showing by Marna in Ocotober, 2004). Bryce Widom will also be displaying some of his artwork in the future.
